Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to work on user facing tasks across all our products. This includes UI interfaces of co-browsing sessions, in-session functionality, admin dashboard, as well as Javascript, Embed and REST APIs. On the client side we are using VueJS as a UI framework of choice and vanilla JS wherever possible, Python/Django on the server side and Golang for handling websocket connections.


While remote work is possible, especially in the pandemic times, this position implies a possibility to visit our office in Amsterdam in person.


As a Frontend Engineer at Surfly, you will

  • Work on new in-session functionality and user-facing features
  • Maintain and expand our JS, Embed and REST APIs
  • Work on our in-session synchronization using Websockets
  • Work on the videochat integration
  • Develop UI components
  • Optimize the application for maximum speed and performance
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, product and UX teams.

Requirements

  • Solid experience working with JavaScript and CSS
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks (VueJS preferred)
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling and websockets
  • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Experience developing automated unit, integration and functional test suites
  • Good knowledge of webpack
  • Backend experience (Python/Django or Go)
  • We're looking for a "getting-things-done" attitude.
