Qualifications & experience:

  • Qualification in Design or equivalent experience in UI/UX design for digital products, websites, apps or games.

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a UXD role, with a portfolio that demonstrates and showcases a firm foundation in UX methodologies and Interaction and Visual Design.

Competency & skills:
  • Excellent proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design and prototyping tools. Experience in animation applications would be advantageous.

  • A strong foundation in design principles and UX best practices for both mobile and web.

  • A creative mind & technical understanding to be able to formulate feasible solutions for implementation.

  • A solid understanding of development frameworks and coding languages such as HTML, CSS & JS to effectively collaborate with the Engineering team.

  • An affinity and passion for technology, usability and great design.

  • Solid knowledge of user research methodologies such as usability testing, one-on-one interviews, card sorting, etc.

  • A basic understanding of translating tracked data into usability insights to improve the user experience.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills for effortless collaboration within Surfly, as well as with external clients.

  • Basic experience in UX writing for digital interfaces, as well as user flow touch points such as technical explanations and emails.

  • A basic understanding of Accessibility and integrating the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) in solutions and designs is advantageous.

  • Facilitate user research studies to determine user needs and test ideas with wireframes or prototypes to iterate solutions.

  • Create detailed flows to map user journeys and illustrate functionality clearly for all Surfly product use cases.

  • Create wireframes & interactive prototypes for internal discussions and to be used as artefacts in Usability Testing.

  • Prepare well-crafted Interface Designs while working closely with Engineering to ensure high-quality implementation and overall user experience.

  • Evolve, define and establish style guides, design systems, and interaction patterns for the Surfly product.

  • Provide design support for internal teams by creating the necessary digital creative such as email templates, icons sets, etc.
